Facebook Continues Its Transparency Efforts

Since the Cambridge Analytica scandal, Facebook has multiplied transparency measures. The latest one is the introduction of a “verified account” badge for community managers overseeing popular pages on Facebook. If they fail to obtain it, it will be impossible for them to publish content from their account. For now, there is no mention of the number of followers required for a page to be considered significant.

Another major measure is that advertisements will be visible to everyone, not just to those considered as the target audience, and advertisers will have to clearly indicate the amounts invested in archived campaigns, as well as the audience they reached. Another step towards complete transparency.
